A guest post by Vanessa Roman, an important part of our teaching team at
Joy yoga.
Dear Yogis,
I am excited to be holding my annual Gratitude Thanksgiving Yoga class once again this year. The Gratitude class is a chance for us to come together and practice in the true spirit of thankfulness.
This year's class will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22nd from 7-815pm at Joy Yoga in Melrose. Joy has generously donated the space to us for the evening.
Class is free, but I will be accepting donations to benefit the Native people protesting the North Dakota pipeline at Standing Rock. These are people who are already used to having very little, and now the pipeline is threatening their sacred land as well as their clean water. The protestors have been camped out since April and they will continue praying in peace on the land, even as the weather grows colder. It feels appropriate to share some of our abundance with the Native people, especially in this time of Thanksgiving.
Please let me know if you would like to come to the class. Joy's space is not huge so I want to make sure I can save spots for those interested! Please email me at bleuserenity@hotmail.com.
And if I don't see you before the holiday, I hope you enjoy some down time with family and friends. I am grateful that each of you have chosen to come to my class at some point. As any yoga teacher will tell you, it really is the students that make this job so incredible!!
Sending a warm Namaste,
Vanessa
