The Melrose Farmers Market has always been one of my favorite parts of summer. There's something about being there — seeing what's in season, watching kids discover something new at a vendor's table — that inspired me to create something families could bring along with them.
These scavenger hunts were designed to match what's actually at the market depending on the time of year. Early summer, midsummer, and late summer each look different — the produce changes, the vendors' tables shift, and what you'll find in June is nothing like what you'll find in August. Rather than creating one general printable, I made three so that each one reflects what's realistically there when you visit. Each printable is designed to be simple to use. Print it before you leave the house, hand it to your kids, and let them explore. They work well as a quiet activity while you shop, or as something the whole family does together as you move through the market. Along the way, kids start to notice things they might otherwise walk past — and that's usually where the good conversations start. All three are available as instant downloads in my Etsy shop. You can purchase them individually or together depending on where you are in the season.
