Dear Families,
Wow! Thanks for the enthusiastic response! Many of you have reached out about signing up your son or daughter (rising 6th graders and up) to assist me with chicken School this Summer. I am only having 2 helpers per week to keep the overall group size manageable and safe for all. SOOO... this leads me to why I am writing to you today. I have decided to give priority to helpers with younger siblings in attendance and kids who helped me last summer. If you have signed up a younger child for the program and your older child is interested in assisting me AND/OR your child helped me last summer..AND you haven't already texted or emailed me yet. (I know that's a lot of ands:).... Please do so by this Friday January 28. If there are still assistant positions available on January 29, I will send another email letting people know what spots are still available. I am happy to provide this learning opportunity for 6th graders on up. Its a win win for all! Again, Thanks you! I am so grateful for the enthusiastic response and your trust in me. It means more than you may know. Joy joyhealthylife.com

I am committed to your success so please don't hesitate to reach out to me if there is something I can do to make your MBC experience even BETTER. Community is at the CORE of our program. Please join our Facebook group to connect with your teammates, ask questions and share events. This is also the first place I post any schedule changes. Swag! Show your MBC pride! I'll be bringing tanks and t shirts on Wednesday and Friday of this week to our in-person boot camps. They are all $15. (cash please) Once these are gone I have some other surprises in the works that will be available for purchase. Make your day great! Joy [email protected] 617-816-0352

Good evening, My name is Joy Fay and I am here to share my thoughts on field use fees. I am the owner and operator of Melrose Boot Camp, an early morning outdoor exercise program for adults. I have lived in Melrose for 19 years. As many of you can imagine, this past year has taken a dramatic toll on me and my business. 7 years ago I expanded my offerings. In addition to the early morning boot camp classes, I also opened a yoga studio on Green Street. I had to close the studio last March due to the current health crisis. Melrose Boot Camp is now my main focus and my main source of income. I am just now getting back on my feet. I know I don’t need to tell you what a hard year it has been. I would like to use Fred Green field MWF for less than 3 hours per morning for the remainder of this spring, summer and through the month of October. I know that having a field permit is important. It is especially important now, as we take every precaution to keep residents safe and separated from one another and not have groups overlapping. I take the health and safety of my clients, or as I like to call them, teammates, seriously. I am here today to ask you to consider waving fees associated with such permits through the upcoming warm weather seasons to give me the chance to get back up and running again successfully. Fred Green Field is a great spot for us. My early morning classes are unique as the time we meet is not desirable for most groups. We exercise under the moon and are done when most people are just beginning their days. We need as a community to get people back outside safely exercising. I respectfully ask you to consider my request. We are in this together and I need your help. Thank you. Sincerely, Joy Fay 149 Essex Street Melrose Dear Teammates,

How long have you been involved with MBC? I've been a "lifer" ....keep hanging around and coming back. To the best of my ability to track, I've been attending since we used to refer to Joy as Sargent, round about 2007, I think. What do you like most about the program? What keeps you coming back? Accountability, MBC makes me honest and true to commitments in making time for exercise. Plus, it's so early, I don't have the excuse I've got something else going on. And of course the camaraderie with Joy as our glue. What, if any, benefits have you experienced through your participation? My seasons are not summer, spring, winter, fall - they are "MBC on" or "MBC off". I always feel better in the "MBC on" season. What would you say to someone considering joining the team? You'll only regret NOT coming, but never regret coming. Anything else you would like to add? MBC's made a big difference in my life, in lots of ways! |
